Ariel was lost... Again. She had a strange feeling that she wasn't anywhere near the library, especially with the hallways getting deeper into the earth as she kept going. All she had done was follow directions from that Chester kid. She was starting to think that he purposefully misled her. There was no way he accidentally gave her this bad of directions. But she continued to walk down the hallways. It was pretty creepy down here, much unlike the rest of the school which all seemed to have character to it. No, these hallways had an ominous feeling and if the walls could talk, Ariel wasn't positive she wanted to hear these stories. Just as she was about to turn back, she saw an open space up ahead so she decided to see what was up ahead.
What she found gave her chills. This school had a dungeon? Ariel had never liked dungeons. They weren't exactly her cup of tea and she just felt like a dungeon said that torture was okay and she never believed in that kind of thing. It was inhumane. Taking away a person's freedom was the worst action you could inflict on someone, although in some drastic cases, Ariel admitted it was necessary. That was why she had Eric take away the dungeon in his castle and have one further away where she really didn't have anything to do with it. Thankfully, they never really had to use it back home. Ariel couldn't even imagine why a school would have a dungeon. She really didn't want to know the reasoning behind that one.
Ariel stepped forward and ran her hands along the bars of the cells, shivering a little, although not from the slight draft down here. The cold metal was so impersonable, so unlike her home. She missed Eric and she missed her family. Ariel bit the side of her mouth, refraining from crying. That would really do her no good. She pulled her bright red peacoat around her slight frame tighter and turned around to head back to the school grounds. She wanted out of this place as soon as possible. Ariel could have been the happiest person without knowing that the dungeons even existed down here. She hadn't heard another person behind her, though, and was surprised to see the other girl's frame in the hallway.

Ursula stood poised in the shadows. She wore a dark purple leather coat with a soft grey scarf tucked around her neck. She wore super black skinny jeans with spiky black heels. Her hair was tied half up half down, falling gracefully straight down her back and slightly over her shoulders. Her eyes burned into the back of the girl's head. With her heels clicking on the pavement beneath her feet, it was a wonder that Ariel hadn't heard her and turned around yet, but she hadn't so it had to be all for the best.
Ursula saw her pause and stopped behind her. One slender eyebrow raised, giving her look a touch of malice. She moved her head, flipping her long hair over her shoulder. She gave a wicked smile as she watch Ariel look around the dungeons.
"Lost little girl?"

Ariel jumped when she saw Ursula. She didn't need to ask this girl's name. No, she would know the sea witch anywhere and unlike everyone else around school, Ariel knew that Ursula wasn't here to help them out. She bristled a little, not quite sure what to do. There was a possibility that she could outrun Ursula, especially in those heels of hers, but Ariel didn't want to do that just yet. She wanted to see what would happen. Maybe she could talk it out with Ursula. There had to be a little bit of good hidden deep inside her somewhere...
"I'm not lost," she protested defiantly, "I know exactly where I am and how to get back to where I was. So I'm not lost." It was lame and she knew that Ursula would see right through that one, but it wasn't a lie, either. If she retraced her steps, she could get back to the courtyard. But then again, she really doubted Ursula would let her just retrace her steps. "What do you think you're doing here? You have no place here." Ariel didn't just mean why Ursula was in the dungeon.

"Why my dear..." She cooed and batted her eyelashes. "Why else would I be here? You're here of course. You and that rat Prince Eric..." She bristled. Just hearing the name of the man who had done her so much harm before made her angry enough she could just rip him to pieces. "It's my job to look after you dear." Her words dripped with venomous oil. "We wouldn't want our dear little princess to come to any harm...not with Daddy Triton so concerned for his youngest brat."
She moved her hand languidly to push the last remaining hair over her shoulder. "You poor unfortunate soul. You find yourself in some of the worst conditions...It's too bad you can't seem to find your way out of them..." She looked at her nails as if she were bored. "Lost in a world without your lovely merfamily...and away from your dear Eric. How ever will you survive?" Her dark eyes flashed to Ariel.

Ariel half laughed, half scoffed. "I don't need to be watched over and I'm a lot more capable of handling my own business now. I don't need you around here so why don't you just go crawl home, back to your little gross grotto. That's where you belong, after all. With the miserable beings of the ocean, just like you." Yes, Ariel could stick up for herself when she needed to, although she hated to be impolite. When it came to Ursula, though, she didn't mind being as rude as possible. It was the only way to get anything through her head.
Ariel took a couple steps away from Ursula. The sea witch had obviously never heard of people's personal space. Either that or she just didn't care all that much. She was right about Eric, though. Ariel hadn't seen him around yet and she really wanted to be with him. She hoped he had been able to get through to St. Gregory's like her. She had no clue what she would do without Eric around if he never showed up... Ariel chewed on the side of her cheek.

"My...little princess has grown up a bit." She spoke with a mock surprise. " Toughened up I suppose. Well that happens when you join the world of mortals." Ursula faked a pout. "You have to be tough and stick up for yourself when no one else cares about you..." She noticed how the mention of Eric threw Ariel off a bit.
"But of course...Eric cares. He just...isn't here." She paused, "Odd...how I'm here but he's not...I wonder why that is." She looked down, knowing this was Ariel's weakness. "You don't think he's found another pretty princess back at home to marry and be happy with...do you?" Her eyes shot up to Ariel.

Ariel clenched her fists. "He did not! I'm not that stupid, Ursula! And I have faith in him! He'll find his way to me! He always does!" Ariel's voice echoed off of the walls eerily and made her shiver a little. This was the first time she had yelled since she came to this place, but with Ursula, Ariel really didn't care. The humans here had a word for people like Ursula. What was it again? All Ariel could remember was that it rhymed with itch...
As much as she hated it, though, Ariel had to admit that Ursula had a point. Eric wasn't here. She hadn't been able to find him the past couple days and that unnerved Ariel. But Eric wouldn't be unfaithful to her. She knew that much. Maybe he was just as lost around this school as Ariel was. Or maybe something happened to him. No, she couldn't think like that. Eric would find his way to Ariel and that was all there was to it. She just had to believe.

"Oh, of course. I'm sorry...because it's not like he didn't try before." Granted it was Ursula he had almost married and it was because she had put him under a spell, but that wouldn't really matter. What happened once could happen again...
Ursula smiled, "He's just late..." She finished. She looked around the dungeons. "I wonder what they used this place for. It's so dark and dirty...it couldn't have been anything good." She peeked at Ariel. "Humans are such evil creatures...so mean to each other. Torture, pain...deceit. It's a wonder there's any left with the way they kill each other off..." Her eyes sparkled in delight. "Do you think they ever killed anyone in this place?"

"You act like you're any different, Ursula. You trapped merfolk in your stupid little grotto when they couldn't hold up their side of the bargain in a ridiculous contract. That is torture, the same thing you're accusing humans of doing." Ariel didn't deny that humans could be cruel. She had already seen what some of the students around here could do. They were mean, there was no denying that, but none of them held a candle to what Ursula had done to Ariel.
Anger flickered in Ariel's eyes and she turned on her heel to leave the dungeon. She didn't care about Ursula and really had no idea why she was even down here talking to her nemesis. She had never given her the time of day before so why would she do so in another world? There was no point. Anyways, Ariel should be focused on getting back to her home world and back to her family.

"Ahh, but my dear, I never hurt them. It was a legal contract..." She purred following Ariel as she tried to make her get away. "They have them here too...and when one side of a contract isn't met they have consequences here as well...I did nothing that wasn't right at all."
"Just like you...You walked into the agreement knowing full well what you had gotten yourself into. You knew the consequences but you wanted your dear prince-y boy to love you and marry you...so you signed the agreement. That was not anything foul on my behalf..." She technically was right. Of course...Ursula had known from the start that Ariel would never succeed. Ursula had made a promise to herself to make sure of that, but still everything she had done had been legal and therefore binding...not crooked or deceiving at all. Ok, well maybe a little bit, but did that really matter in the grand scheme of things? No...not really.
