WRITING SAMPLE //
Rory sat in her government class, hardly paying attention. It wasn’t that big of a deal. The teacher liked her and always gave her a packet to study from at home for ‘extra credit work’. It was the entire week lesson, so she could daydream in class and read at home to understand the weeks concepts. She looked down at the paper she was supposed to be taking notes on and smiled at the thousand different ways she had written Jeremy’s name.
Jeremy Baker was the most perfect guy in her universe. He played on the football team, was part of the after school ‘tutor’ program; though he’d never admit to being a tutor. He’d always tell anyone who saw him that he was just there to make smarter people do his homework. It was plausible. He had the grades that everyone would expect of a jock making someone smarter do his homework. He was almost six foot, built like a bull and could probably bench press more then Rory and her book bag combined, which was a fair amount. He worked at the local grocery store on the weekends, saving money to help his family out. He wasn’t poor, but he wasn’t as well to do as many in the neighbor hood he lived in. He was part of the typical, average, middle-class family. He had a little brother, his parents were still married and they even had the stereotypical dog expected of many average American families. He was so perfect in her eyes.
Rory was not perfect. She was a dancer, though she was only mediocre. She was smart, passing all of her classes; math was the hardest for her and she got a high C so she was alright with that. She was five foot five and thicker then most dancers. She was German, and though she’d never use it as a scapegoat, it was the main reason for her less then model-worthy body, every woman in her family was thicker then they would have liked. She ate healthy food and helped out at the elementary school across town. It was the lower part of town and most of the kids she helped couldn’t afford to get extra help, so she gave it free. In her small hometown, the higher the street you lived on, the more money and better off you were. Rory lived in a small two bedroom, one bath house with her mother. They could barely get the house payment with both of the jobs her mother held and the minimum wage Rory pulled from washing dishes part time at the restaurant down the block from her house. They didn’t have a car, nor a television. They were extra expenses that she and her mother couldn’t afford.
Rory’s father had left when Rory was a preteen. The relationship between him and her mother had been strained when Rory’s mom had been laid off from the food distributing company she had worked at since she was old enough to work. Rory’s parents were never married, so when her dad had left there was nothing her mother could do to get financial help. She couldn’t even get child-support. Rory’s father had threatened to fight for custody if she even tried to ask for money. He had effectively vanished from her life scot-free. Rory had a sneaking suspicion he had moved to Michigan and was married with a nice life.
It never bothered her though. She had more to think about then him and his life away from her. She loved her mother and that was all she needed. She picked up her pen and sketched a heart around one of the smaller ‘Jeremy Baker’s she had written. The bell sounded and she closed her binder, concealing the evidence of her infatuation. She took the packet her teacher held out for her at the door and walked down the hall to continue through out the rest of her day.

AGE // 16
GENDER// female
SEXUALTY// straight
HAIR // Wavy, light brown
EYES // blue green
BUILD // willowy and thin
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT //5'7" 118lbs
OVERALL LOOK // Aurora pulls off the toussled, just crawled out of bed look really well, which is good since no matter how many times she brushes her hair, the natural waves in it make it look like she rolled out of bed and ran her fingers through it, in a good way. She hardly ever wears her hair tied up, and prefers her messy locks to just float freely around her face and shoulders. She's thin and willowy, mainly from growing up on food found in the forest, but her occasional dance bouts help keep her in shape. She was blessed as a teen to not encounter acne and has flawless skin...some would say only magic could have given her such good luck but who really knows.
Aurora really likes being outdoors. Doesn't matter what she's doing she just really feels at home in the mountains or the forest, anywhere where there are lots of trees. It stems from growing up in a forest cottage with her three aunts. Aurora tends to wear tighter tops, but flowy loose bottoms, perfering skirts or "goucho" pants. The feeling of jeans on any part of her skin chafes so she tends to stay away from denim. Her usual attire tends to consist of neutral colors, but small splashes of colors do make it into her wardrobe.

OVERALL PERSONALITY //
Even though Aurora tends to go with the flow most of the times, she does have a mind of her own, and often speaks about what she's thinking. She doesn't like to be a damsel in distress but because she's so trusting she often finds herself in situations that she can't deal with alone. She's kind of a rebel, but not with any serious rules...like killing people. But tell her not to do something, like talk to strangers, and she probably will. She wants to be independent and self-relient, and breaking small rules is her way of establishing that without ostracizing herself.
Aurora was very isolated back in the fable realm. She grew up in the middle of the forest and was taught to not trust strangers as a little kid, even though she craved social interaction. She grew up to be a shy teen, having never really talked to others in her life. Now that she's in the real world she's more apt to talk to new people but still hates public speaking because she is so SO shy.
She's very imaginative and creative since she spends a lot of her time daydreaming. She hates TV since it takes away the ability to imagine stuff, like what a character looks like. She's a die-hard romantic! She's really into dreams: decoding them, talking about them and most times she takes them to heart, believing what she sees if it seems plausible.
MOM’S NAME // Queen to Stefan
DAD’S NAME // King Stefan

HISTORY //
Betrothed at birth to Prince Phillip (the son of a neighboring king), the infant Aurora is blessed with the gifts of beauty and song by the good fairies of the kingdom, Flora, Fauna and Merryweather. However, fate's icy hand brings an uninvited guest to the christening. Angry because she did not receive an invitation the evil fairy Maleficent curses Aurora to die by the prick of a spinning wheel's spindle before her 16th birthday. Struggling to prevent this catastrophe, the good fairies hide with Aurora in a secluded cottage in the glen under the name of Brier Rose. The years pass and Aurora blossoms into a lovely but lonely young woman unaware of her real name and birthright.
Once day while playacting with the forest animals at what it might be like to meet a prince Aurora meets a peasant boy. Although neither of them knows who the other is, the couple falls in love at first sight. When the good fairies reveal Princess Aurora's birthright to her, instead of joy, an awful sadness comes over her. For she believes she must sacrifice her true love to the "right and royal duty" of marrying Prince Phillip, a stranger. Just as she's about to discover that the two are one and the same, she's stricken by Maleficent's terrible curse. She sleeps, instead of dies, and wakes to see the face of her true love, Prince Philip upon receiving true love's first kiss.
--Copied from the Disney Archive site--
She thinks she can finally rest easy and start her life anew. Upon being thrown into the mortal realm Aurora finds herself struggling to cope with a false past, and being lost in a world she has no idea of...again. Hopefully she and the other fable characters can get back to their Homeland and she can live out her 'Happily ever after.'
